Skip to content Palace Day Nursery are making plans to become an Eco-nursery! Our eco-leaders, Stacey and Terianne, have begun to introduce different ways to reduce energy, recycle and how to talk about important topics like plastic pollution and where our waste goes. Our goal is to make every child within the setting eco-aware and participate in our many projects to come forth. Through this, children will be able to continue these skills throughout life and make the world a healthier place.
We are reading eco-themed stories, rhyme and songs, these are great ways to introduce various themes and help our children understand what they are interested in. A child-led follow-on activity, like a play or art, might help to explore various themes further, if necessary. Finally the children enjoy hands-on eco-activity, which helps them to get involved and make a difference. This could be anything from recycling to planting and watering. It’s all great fun!
This is an opportunity to discuss your child’s needs and discover how we create an enabling and learning environment for out children to grow and thrive in. Giving them a place to play and learn away from home.
